How Can You Help?

2007 News
We want to thank the Dallas Foundation for awarding us a $25,000. grant made available through the Triad Funds.  These funds were donated to the Dallas Foundation for taking care of soldiers in the State of Texas.  The Triad Funds were donated from a great American Patriot and split into three areas.  The El Paso area (Fort Bliss), the San Antonio area (Fort Sam Houston/Brooke Army Medical Center and the Dallas, Fort Hood area.  We were fortunate to receive these funds to assist with the many soldiers that we receive that are mobilizing, training and going forward as the Global War on Terrorism continues.  It has aided us to provide support at the Soldier Readiness Training sites where soldiers process in and out of the war zone with medical, legal, dental and reintegration briefings.  It is a long process and we offer snacks and drinks as a small gesture of saying Thank you for what you are doing or Thank you for what you have done for our country.

We also provide barracks bags for those single soldiers returning home with a new toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, razor, shaving cream, soap and a snack.  These bags are the first thing the soldiers come back to in their barracks.  Again, something from the community - saying "Thank you"

We provide many opportunities for soldiers to utilize our printers and office equipment as well as just sit back and rest in our chairs and comfortable atmosphere.

As soldiers train and prepare we will oftentimes provide a huge BBQ or meal before their departure.  These can be held for as few as 30-40 or 2,500.

In the last couple of months we have also been able to provide some financial assistance to those that just needed a little boost.

Without the assistance of the Dallas Foundation, Triad Fund we would not have been able to assist with many of the requests that have been asked of the TMFF.

Thank you Dallas Foundation, the Triad Fund and the Board that considered us worthy of this grant.  It was greatly appreciated and much needed.

For more information on the Dallas Foundation go to their website at Dallasfoundation.org

We would also like to thank the Art for Soldiers Foundation for their contribution of a "Media Room".  Your contribution of $10,000 helped us create a quiet "media room" that has been utilized by soldiers bringing their own games to hook up to the new huge flat screen TV that is now hanging in our quiet room.  This allowed "the younger soldiers" to go online and play their games with fellow soldiers from all over the country.

Thank you to AT&T Pioneers.  The Pioneers from around the State of Texas have provided countless hours of volunteering for flights and assistance with putting up our holiday decorations, the awesome "Bike Run" in September and the many things you do for us during each year for the last four years.  We cannot wait for you to arrive in costume to once again provide the much needed Blood drive to the Robertson Blood Center at Fort Hood and then spend time with the soldiers afterwards.

Dear Friends:

For less than the cost of an envelope and a stamp you could have your donation sent directly to us.  We have added this convenience to you so that you may continue to help us - help those that are giving so much to keep us safe.

Each dollar goes directly towards support at one of our many locations around Fort Hood or when we travel to assist with the deployments or welcome home ceremonies of soldiers elsewhere.

We thank you for visiting our website, and welcome you to come to our facility whenever you are in the Central Texas area!

TMFF NEEDS/Wish LIST

If you are able to do a supply drive for items that are needed, please collect the following:

Daily Hygiene Items:

Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Razors, Shaving cream

Lotion, Soap, Deodorant, Shampoo

Germ-x

Q-tips, Chap Stick, Eye drops

Baby Powder or Foot Powder

Feminine Hygiene Items

Small toiletry items are bagged for barracks bags for soldiers returning home along with a toothpaste and toothbrush.  This simple act allows the soldier something clean and fresh and gives him/her a little time to get home before they have to go shopping.  We are currently making these for the returning 1st Cav Soldiers as well as IIICorp and 13th SCE that are returning home.

We are in need of large supplies of coffee, ice tea mix, Gatorade/Lemonade mix, cream and sugar packets, stir sticks and could use several thousand 7 or 8 oz. Styrofoam cups.   Packaged crackers, candy/cookies, nuts, gum we use at the Soldier Readiness Processing Sites as well as providing to the families while waiting for incoming planes.

Soldier Readiness Processing Sites are where the soldiers receiving their initial briefings, go to medical, dental, legal and get vaccinations.  It is a long day and soldiers will not get out of line to go eat.  It is a simple way for us to thank them for what they are doing or what they have done.  This process is done for all outbound and inbound soldiers.

Our facility provides relief to soldiers and includes the use of a small kitchen. We are always needing groceries, canned food, frozen items, brownie mixes, etc.  The refrigerator seems to provide comfort to those soldiers that are home recuperating.  Opening the door just to see what is inside brings a touch of home and familiarity back to these soldiers.  Grocery coupons to HEB or Walmart.  Just imagine what you would go to at the refrigerator and that is probably what they are looking for right now.

Office supplies:

We use HP49A printer toner for our computer printer.  We purchase 5 of these a month.

Copy paper for our printer.

Very large Refrigerator

1 – 15 passenger van or mini van with seats that can be easily removed

Letters to the soldiers of encouragement

Sponsorship of our “Welcome Home T-shirts” that are given to all inbound wounded/injured soldiers
